Update on Pup

I was still travelling for work this week, and handling pup having his surgery via long distance, which is a hard thing to do. He had most of his mandible removed, they said to ensure that they got all of the cancer cells. Dogs supposedly adapt well with only one side of teeth on the bottom. I came back here just to rescue him from the hospital. He looks a little frankenpup, but will look better once the swelling goes down, and the sutures and buttons are removed. He looks beautiful to me. He is eating and eliminating fairly well, so I guess he will adapt. They should have the biopsy report on what was removed completed next week, and I hope that it is positive news. I would hate to think that he went through that, and they didn't get it all. All I can do is keep praying.

Continued thanks to all of you, for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. He is more than a dog to me, so much more than a loyal friend. I cannot say that I am single with no kids, because he is my kid, and I am as emotional about his fight with cancer as any parent could be, so thanks again.

May you all enjoy a Safe & Happy 4th of July, and be careful with those fireworks.

As I continue to be a "newbie" to your blog, you'll notice quite often that I tend to bring up the rear (in commenting). So glad to hear the pup is home in your care again and I'm betting he'll learn to adjust in no time. Wishing you the best with this ordeal... it cannot be easy.
