A Good Time
You will be relieved to know that the movie date went very well. It did for me anyway, and she genuinely seemed to be enjoying herself.
We did find 'Amityville Horror' was still playing, so that started the evening off on a positive note. We enjoyed a nice Italian dinner first, and I was relieved when she ordered ice tea -- this definitely would be different than the date with Ms. Sloppy Drunk. I was at ease with her, and the conversation flowed smoothly, and she laughed at all the right places. It was going very well indeed.
'Amityville Horror' was a decent enough movie, not the best of it's genre, but entertaining enough. Ryan Reynolds made, and possibly saved, the movie. My date knew when to lean over and whisper something, but mostly was absorbed in the movie, which was another A+ for her. I really don't enjoy going to the movies with the chatty cathy types. After the movie, ahhhhhh, after the movie, I finally got to enjoy pie, coffee, and a discussion about the film with her. She had great comments, made several good points, and it was just fun.
It was way too early in this relationship to think about recharging my soul. Oh, I was thinking it, but I don't think she would have let me go to far. We just are not at that level yet.
So where do we go from here? With her schedule and mine, it is going to be rough finding time in the next few weeks to see each other. We are having coffee in the middle of the week, and then I am gone for a week. When I get back, she is gone for 10 days. Maybe it will work out, and what we discovered is that we like each other's company. At the very least we are good friends, and if the opportunity presents itself, there may be room for growth.
There is a bbq planned for today, and I only hope the weather cooperates. It is 53 here right now, with the possibility of rain. Blah. I have a friend who is dropping by shortly, so I will have to do my blogging later on, and visit everyone's blog.
May our UK friends enjoy their bank holiday. How many of these do you have a year?
Lastly, and most importantly, the reason I am enjoying a day off is Memorial Day. I want to give my thanks to those men and women in our armed forces, who paid the ultimate price defending our nation, and the freedoms we all hold so dear. To all our military, past, present and future, bless you all.

I'm so glad your date went well! I love your attitude about the whole "let's wait and see what happens" rather than push yourself along it in her life or vice versa.
You're a gem and she sounds like one too. I wish you both the best whatever happens.
Ditto to the veterans! We wouldn't be where we are now if it hadn't been for them. I know I am very thankful for all them still with us and those who sacrificed their lives.
Adrienne, thank you. The older I get, the more cautious I become.
I place alot of value on friendship, so I win no matter how it goes, she's a great person.

Karen - crazy schedules is right, and the coffee date will be nice, I'm looking forward to it.

Walker - it is true that war is a necessary evil, although I am not sure that all events in the current war are necessary, I still respect and admire those who are fighting it. A big thanks to our neighbor to the north for being a good friend and ally. God bless your country's military and the sacrifices that they make as well.

Another great post. It's always fun to read about people's dating experiences ... the good and the bad. Glad things went well for you and super glad you're not turned on by the sloppy drunken females. Ew.
I was also touched that you took the time to remember our veterans. Nice tribute.
Weary Hag, thanks for you comments, and for dropping by again. I will have to add you to my blogroll when I return
